For a timber wolf, she is unusually small, which does not make her an apt warrior. She was also never properly trained to be a fighter, so her muscles are average, but strength is not her biggest advantage. Her pelt is thick, which keeps her warm even in the coldest days of winter, and gives her the illusion of being better built than she actually is. With the loss of her band, her hunting has been limited to small prey, and she has lost a few additional pounds as a result. Otherwise, she is quite healthy, with no physical scars or defects other than her small stature.

In spite of the troubles she has faced in recent times, Solstice is an eternal optimist. She is remarkably even-headed during stressful times, and her temper is sunny. When her company is in good spirits, so is Sol. So she is good humored and pleasant to be around, normally. If she is experiencing a depressive episode, she will escape a social setting to work through her dark feelings alone. While she assumes this is the best way to move on from past tragedies, she holds her bad feelings in, which leads to nightmares and general anxiety.

Being a former member of a band that held great reverence for the natural wold, she is very in-tune with her surroundings. She can sense the precise moment when one season shifts into the next, and she can "smell" a storm a day before it arrives. While she has no special or "magical" powers, she is skilled in the art of herbal healing and lore. Many find her to be strange because of her closeness to the unseen spiritual world; it's not unusual to find her conversing with a tree, or consulting the constellations for advice. Her beliefs are not generally known or accepted outside of her family, which is now gone, and some might see her as being perhaps a tad crazy in the head.

Biography.
Born of the traveling Tzigan clan of healers and mystics, Sol was raised to have a deep respect for the earth and cycles of life. She was the sole pup produced in a litter, and was born weeks later than most wolf pups, who are born in the spring. She was born in June as spring came to an end, which is how she received her name. The Tzigans had no territory, instead migrating with the seasons. They had developed an uneasy peace treaty with surrounding packs, allowing them to pass through but not remain for extended lengths. They were well known for their use of herbs in healing and medicine, and had aided the packs throughout the years. But the other packs were always wary of them, fearing they had dark powers, which was not the case. They simply had a profound understanding of nature and plant life.

In the summer of the young wolf's second year, her band of close family members happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. The alpha pair had produced a litter of four, but not a single pup survived longer than a day. Knowing the Tzigans were close by, their minds were clouded with grief and suspicion, and they decided the band of travelers were to blame. Fearing a curse, they ambushed the group while they were sleeping. At the time, Sol had wandered off on her own, as she was prone to do, to have some time alone. She heard the commotion of the attack, but was unable to stop it.

The Tzigans were not the most skilled fighters, as they had always depended on their swiftness and ability to blend in with their surroundings. Taken without warning, they were easily massacred by the angry pack. Solstice fled the bloody scene, never to see her family again. While she secretly hopes they may still be alive, deep down she knows this is highly unlikely.

With her keen knowledge of herbs and plants, she hopes to be accepted into a pack. She is aware that she has little chance to survive as a lone wolf, as she is petite for her breed. She secretly fears the Tzigan name will proceed her, and that she will not be trusted due to powers she doesn't actually possess.
