Name. Nera Senaraeh Nil
Age. 2 years (March)
Gender. Female
Species. Eurasian Wolf
Physique. Average, huntress
Appearance.
Ginger fur covers the majority of this woman’s form. A darker shade of brown along with peppered gray accompanies the major color of her pelt. Along her back is a stone gray and black that provides an addition of camouflage among the borderlands of mountain and plains. Her eyes are a dull and light yellow.
Hiding among the earth is not all her body can offer her. She has the physique and capabilities of a huntress. At a slow pace, she can endure long expeditions across unknown lands when tracking dying prey. She can sprint quickly and wound an animal with surprising speeds. But her body is not the type to go through periods of extraneous activity. Latching onto prey or enemies to bring them down is not the tactic she employs. In those cases, it is her willpower and determination alone that attempt to make up for the power she does not possess. Still however, she is known to be both creative and effective in the hunting squad.
When outside of a pack and hunting squad however, the health and meat of this huntress disappears. She is lean, sickly looking, and weak. But it is highly unlikely that such a skilled huntress would also be a poor huntress outside of the pack. Without the eyes of questioning packmates, she fasts regularly. She feeds when she is pushed to it, but it is a miracle that she gets out of these self-made starvations alive. But each time, she has the faith that she will survive the trials of life.
Personality.
Pleasant. All too pleasant. She comes off as the shy type when in a group setting. Nera is helpful, kind, and selfless. She will do what she can to help out, but never looks to overshadow others. Ranks and respect do not concern her, and she is at default submissive no matter who she speaks to. Surprising boldness comes to her when someone is in need of defense, either verbally or physically. And when under fire herself, she is patient and easily willing to submit, but also able to stand her ground if the situation calls for it. Depending on what sort of person you are, you could find her as a breath a fresh air, annoying, or simply easy prey.
But it seems that every sort of nice, timid woman has their thorns. The thorn to this smiling face is that she is brainwashed. She will pleasantly greet you with a smile, so happy to see you, despite the fact that she just plucked the feathers and injured a bird in between her paws. Blood doesn’t make for good make up. Not that she cares for appearances in the first place. Her beliefs encourages self-harm. Healthy or weak, fur will be missing and scars and fresh wounds will be easily seen. She occasionally faints or has blackouts after a session of ritualistic torture. No way she is that clumsy…
Her mind is not exactly wired correctly, but she is intelligent, just like her brother. She is able to structure pack hunts effectively and with ease. But when it comes to other things, her feelings circumvent logic. She prays or seeks guidance by covering her eyes with her paws and speaking or traveling through the darkness in search for answers. Whatever she settles on, is random and typically nonsensical. But she will follow it nonetheless.
Everyone needs misfortune in their lives, and Nera is prone to starting random, senseless fights. The frequency of these attacks are less when she is tied to a pack that would no doubt discourage this behavior, but she feels it as her own missionary work to do so. She is not sadistic, nor is she masochistic. Hearing the cries of her victim do not excite her, but it is only the comfort of helping another that allows her to see good in such ridiculous work. When in the position of victim, the pain is not enjoyed, but it is borne with thankfulness to the Holy Mother that she will survive and be tougher than before.
Belief (Short Version).
Upon death, every living thing descends and passes through “the hearth* of the world”.
Weak souls are consumed for eternity within the core of the world, while strong souls pass and enter paradise.
To strengthen the soul, one must go through as many trials through life as possible. The stronger one’s willpower, faith in one’s self, selflessness, and disregard for earthly pains then the stronger their soul appears to be. Life should be lived to steel one’s self for their eventual death as well as give up as many earthly ties as possible.
Death is either the untimely end of a creature, or their ushering to paradise. Torture is ritualistic and sacred. Mercy killings are encouraged, and death by fire is considered the most sacred of deaths. Fire/heat and Darkness/Night are sacred.
The world is governed and ordered by an omnipotent and omniscient deity. Characterized as a neuter parental figure, it oversees the goings on of life and guides its “children” by punishment. Nera affectionately calls this deity, the Holy Mother. Darkness is seen as a way to communicate to unknown spirits or the high deity itself. Darkness symbolizes the unknown and a need for faith.
* Hearth (in this mythological sense) is a large family densite that is said to be guarded by spiritual fire. One should always be welcomed inside a den before they enter, so the family spirits do not burn and weaken your soul.
Biography.
Something is obviously wrong with this woman's head, but the details are unclear. Any past traumas (if she had even suffered through any) have either been dealt with, ignored, or interpreted strangely.
What can be easily known however, is that her pup sitter had a large affect on her, but Nera and her nurse did not see eye to eye on things as she grew older. The religious nature of her beliefs being the main issue.
A sister of hers, Lexi, she is called fondly, is always mentioned from time to time. But she is always mentioned with Nera is holding a bone or appearing in a daydream-like state. Is she talking to the dead?
Nera will also often reference a miraculous event, which is actually her account of a lightning strike that started a forest fire.
