The morning was slightly cold as a quick howl awoke the sleeping youth, but it was only a heartbeat before she realized that it was her own. She was whining and howling in her sleep again. Or did she always, and her sensitivity to sounds while unconscious was waning? Was she losing her touch? Dimitri sighed and sat up, the chilly morning air not even bothering her.
The green-eyed youth layed a bit apart from everyone, seeing as she felt like a stranger in what seemed like a family pack, but, of course, she would never admit that. She glanced at the sleeping others and yawned. The youth looked at the roof of the den and narrowed her eyes. I hate reliving memories. She snorted told herself to move on. Food needs to be caught, or borders need to be patrolled. Don't think today. Work. Work. Work.
The cream child stood and stepped out of the den, trying hard not to wake someone. Of course, with this soft bedding, it was almost impossible to tell where anyone is. In the end, Dimitri was pretty sure she had not stepped on anyone, and she stepped out of the den silently to look around the clearing before her. The ground practically trampled by the feet of wolves and dragging of prey. The day looked like it would be warm, but not a lot of sun.
Dimitri wasn't usually much for waking in the morning unless she had to, but it was becoming a habit. It's not like Bell is going to come and slit your throat in your sleep. She thought and smiled as if it were amusing. She growled in frustration a moment later. Bell was either dead or gone, they went in completely opposite directions. And Bell was weak, anyway. After they had split, the fights and weeks without food had been hard, but Dimitri survived. Bell probably didn't.
The girl sniffed the air and could smell the scents of her packmates. But not her family. “How ironic.” She stated under her breath, referring to the fact that most of these wolves were related somehow, or felt related to each other somehow. How Ironic, The cream youth felt lonelier in a pack than alone.
With contempt, The cream youth glared back into the den. The girl had barely talked to anyone. She was somewhat anti-social. But they'll just die if I get close, and it'll be the same again. She looked at her paws in her own silence. I'll talk, but I make no promises to myself. She told herself in silent resolution.

My purpose, she was used to waking in the early morn, though within thee comfort of a pack it was different. The morning since her return and she felt as though she never left and thus her heart expected to see the young forms or her charges and the tranquilnsleeping face of her sister. But there was no such face, only the dark hood of her mate in name wandering within whatever dreamland brought a serene smile to his maw. It was strange that this would be her waking sight, and undoubtedly she would not grow used to it yet, but as she promised to him, she woukd try. For her sake as well as his own, she woukd try and see what came of it.
The waking howl of the young female still rang in her ears long after her mind was aware of it and the source had fled into the morning air. Groggily, the autumn leaf pulled itself to stand, minding the muzzle previously resting on her neck and let it slip gently to the fur laden ground. For a moment, she looked St the slumbewring male uncertsin to what actions would be deemed appropriate to take. Gently stir him and let him know of her absence, leave him be? Her amber gaze lingered indifferently with head cocked inquisitively as sh pondered. What had she done when she was mated before? (If one could even call that arrangement a mateship.)
Deciding to follow the course of the past, she left the male sleeping and tipped around the bodies that lined the floor of the den. Perhaps unkind, but she harbored no guilt as she waltzed into the open and found the smaller female complacent, obviously in thought. Silently, the she wolf came to stand next to hr, brushing her shoulder heavily into her small frame before sitting quietly beside her, stifling a yawn fruitlessly as it silently came to life and split her jaws in twine.

The birds had already been singing when the green-eyed girl awoke, but she began to notice as she calmly looked around and listened. Dimitri had never noticed those junipers that were rooted not too far from the very den she had just exited. It seemed strange to the girl how much she hadn't noticed, like the weave of tree roots, and the fluttering of grass in the wind. It wasn't that Dimitri never saw this, quite the contrary, it had always been there. She just never cared to notice.
The cream youth heard movement in the den, but didn't look around for the source. The scent was that of Nahrus, The Alpha's mate and empress of Nix'rio, but when she brushed heavily against Dimitri's shoulder, she was almost surprised enough to fall over. She hid this as Nahrus sat quietly next to the cream girl. The empress's yawn almost made Dimitri open her jaws to do the same, but she stifled the urge and dipped her head. “Good morning.” She said politely, even though she knew the older she-wolf was mute.
The wind blew gently, bringing a chill to the youth as it buffeted her rather harshly. She hoped the wind would be gone soon, as it would not be as warm as Dimitri had hoped with it's presence so powerful and overbearing. It would be irritating to go a day in such strong wind, with all the dirt and bugs getting in her eyes, nose, and ears. The young, green-eyed girl's ear twitched as if flies were swarming around it already.

ooc:
The veil of lingering sleep was still heavy upon her eyes, threatening to pull her down to the ground in order to reclaim that elusive bit of bliss. But a resilient woman, the autumn dame. When her eyes were open, they were open to the world and would not shut again until the brilliance of the celestial body began to wane and the velvet shroud of night drew the day to a close. No, she would be awake now, fatigue be damned. She was now awake.
Softly, she huffed a silent greeting to the young female. Her voice still produced no coherent sound save for the occasional whine in the midst of a yawn but no more. A shame. She hadn’t thought she would wish for her voice until she realized just how important her words could be. But she would suffice with miming her intentions, at least for now.
Sluggishly she rose from beside the young girl, her frame towering over her as her gaze loomed. Even if she were able to speak, she would have said nothing to prepare the female for what she had on store for her. Smoothly she lifted a heavy paw and let it dangle in the air a moment, testing its flexibility before it was abruptly swung against a soft brown shoulder. The woman lept away regardless if her blow was sound and slipped down to her forelegs in a bow with hindlegs and tail still kept at their balanced height. If she was forced to embrace the morning at this hour, then it would be done so with exercise.

The autumn woman next to Dimitri huffed quietly, and the youth took it as a greeting, as she was pretty sure it was. If she was wrong, she supposed that it would not cause too many problems, yet she always felt like she could not translate well. The green-eyed girl found herself completely awake this morning, odd as it was to her, and would not have been able to go back to sleep if she wanted to, even thinking of the nice, soft bedding in the den did not tire her. No, she was awake for the day, until the night falls she will have open eyes and observant ears.
Next to her, the Alphess rose to her feet, a bit sluggishly, and her size made her tower over the cream youth. With curious eyes, Dimitri watched her bring a paw up and dangled it in the air as she observed something about it. The youth wondered momentarily what the autumn empress was doing, when the large paw came around and hit Dimitri in the shoulder, and the Alphess danced away quickly, jumping out of range.
The cream girl was more surprised by the attack than hurt, the only reason that she was knocked off balance was because she did not expect this move. She shook her head in her surprise and stood quickly to look at the empress's playful looking position. Dimitri's ears pricked up and she mimicked the position as she would have with her siblings. She was, of course, a bit confused as to what had brought on this little spar, but she was quite a bit more amused by the day than lonely now. Dimitri was sure that she might be a bit faster than the autumn she-wolf, but this empress was far more experienced. With slightly exaggerated movements, she hopped after the queen, but hopped back as if she had been snapped at. She liked the thought of morning exercise. With quick feet, she moved around the Autumn Alphess to paw at her left back leg's tendon, in hopes to get the queen off balance, and if it worked, she would attempt to push the woman onto her side, if it didn't she would leap back in an attempt to dodge whatever retaliation the queen had.

ooc: Will get long again, I promise.
The morning was heavy on her, pulling down her movements with unrelenting resistance. But the purpose of the exercise was to move against the resisting force and awaken her muscles to move with better ease. She watched as the smaller female pounce forward then back even without provocation on her part. An act of being at the ready, that much she could admire but it was a waste of precious energy. For while the young female had dexterity, the older woman had endurance.
With her front bowed and eyes ever watchful, she followed the lighter female’s movements as they came around to her left then quickly the whole of her frame spun right and again centered the girl within her sights. She growled mockingly, her vocals quivering in taunt as she placed a daring paw forward as if to lure the she-wolf into her midst; an invitation of a challenge. Yet it was short-lived at best for the woman had forfeit her prior intentions to spring to life upon four strong sturdy limbs. Caught by the wind, she bound forward across the dew laden land and was carried off at a hurried pace to escalate their morning bout to an all out sprint.

With moves more like a playful pup, Dimitri hopped away as Nahrus spun around to center herself against the girl, who trotted back a bit, readying herself for her next move. The Alphess growled mockingly, the sound new to the cream youth's ears, as she had not yet heard a peep out of Nahrus' maw. The challenge was made and dimitri crouched, ready to pounce, though she would not jump too close too quickly, as the older woman was expecting that.
Yet Dimitri's plans were soon foiled as the empress hopped up quickly and went for an all out sprint through the dew covered land. The green-eyed girl's ears perked up as she sat, dumb-founded for a moment, but she quickly raced after Nahrus, long legs allowing her to catch up a bit. The girl wondered what the woman was doing, but the sprint would be fun, and interacting with the Alphess was exciting. With quick paws, Dimitri ran at Nahrus' tail, her tongue lolling comically out the right side of her maw.
Even though the morning was cool, the youth felt warm as she took the chilly air into her lungs. Her tail wagged a bit as she followed the empress in her run, though not so much as to knock her off balance. When was the last time I got to run with someone? She wondered, but did not keep the thought in her mind. Who cares! She was having fun with the autumn queen. With all thoughts of sleep gone, Dimitri allowed the rush of the wind to exhilarate her, and the feeling in her legs make her feel powerful. She could run forever!
