There is no end to how cold it is getting, and there is only more winter to come! With the cold season comes extremes of ice and snow that can be painfully sharp on the paws in the north, even for the thickest pelts. Snow has been spotted in even the southern region's woodland cliffs and marshes.

Once an ideal hunting ground, it now has trace puddles that spread across the sea of gold and green, making for slippery footing when trying to make sharp turns. Cold air sweeps down from the nearby mountains making it often far colder than most lower regions. With an almost flat plain, one can see for miles across the grasslands in clear weather.

Nestled away in the Carpathian Mountains lies a large valley hidden away from prying eyes. The recent flood waters and melting snow have caused a serpentine river to weave its way across the landscape. Here mountain life continues on with hurricane weather shut out by the looming mountains surrounding the valley.

At the bottom of the Northern valley lies the great Geyser Basin. Formed where ancient lava flows used to spill down from the mountains; large gapes in the earth are left brimming with hot, steamy water. As the pressure builds, the water can be seen to bubble at the surface and occasionally the pressure is released in a tower of water.

Looming with majesty, the Carpathian Mountains are a haven for mountain life. Much history can be found here for the wolves of Torva, where the first pack was founded in the lands. Even through the hurricane, the mountains continue to reign supreme over the rest of the landscape.
