These are albino african house snakes I hatched out a couple weeks ago. :)

How do you keep from being overwhelmed with snakes?

What beauties :) The only tame snake I ever really had contact with was one at the nature center named Pocket. She was so laid-back and friendly.

They can be handled at this age, but are most often a bit nippy. Their teeth are so delicate that rather than risk them breaking them off in their miniscule attempts to bite me, I handle them as little as possible until they are a couple months old and used to me cleaning their tubs, etc...

The adults reach about 2-4ft, depending on male/female and species.

I have close to 50 snakes. Many of this years babies have already been spoken for or get sold at shows I attend. Due to their small size and easy maintenance requirements, AHS are great for first-time snake keepers. I use a couple of my very tolerant males for educational programs, because they can be jostled about and held by anyone, lol.

I have often thought I would like a snake, but I am too scared of getting bitten and then, if they had to eat mice... well I would feel sorry for the mice! I used to work in a pet store and I felt really sorry for the 'pinkies' frozen baby mice that we sold to the customers that had pet snakes.
