Year SixSeason: Winter Month: December Breeding / Birthing: Year Round There is no end to how cold it is getting, and there is only more winter to come! With the cold season comes extremes of ice and snow that can be painfully sharp on the paws in the north, even for the thickest pelts. Snow has been spotted in even the southern region's woodland cliffs and marshes.

crash upon your shore
Journeying. Forever wandering, swimming, climbing, moving to get further and further away from his home. A wanderer's heart, beating in time with the rhythm of nature. There was no telling where he was going, and the temptation of an adventure was too much to pass up.
And then, just like that, he found a new land.
Large paws pressed down into the damp soil of the grasslands, imprinting the land with his pawprints. Stormy gray-blue eyes took in the land that lay out before him, drinking it all in. This new land whispered promises to him, beckoning him to explore its grounds and find out its secrets. In reality, it did not look that different from his old home on the plains, though perhaps a bit greener. But what entranced him most of all was the hint of water that seemed to permeate every nook and cranny. Water had always given him strength, as if he were a plant, not a wolf, and absorbed the water wherever he went. Yes, he thought, he would like this place very much.
For now, the brute seemed to alone. Stone-gray tail swayed with a gentle, lazy ease as his salmon tongue licked across his muzzle. Quite alone, but there was no harm in that. Better to commune with nature and see what kind of spirits lurked about these parts. Now with a goal in mind, Neptune started to pad through the grassland again, his body slinking across the terrain with a liquid ease. While he had no idea what would await him, he was eager to see what the world would offer him.

ariadne aralashie kringle Shouldering the same fate, we search for the reasons
Absence did not make the heart grow fonder. It only made it hurt more. Ariadne was learning this the hard way, her small beating red thing a tiny fist inside her snowy white chest, an unseeable scar, something that followed every single step she took. Still her aquamarine eyes had yet to lay themselves upon her sister, though she knew, she knew she was somewhere here in Torva. Adder had told her that as the truth, and she searched, and searched. She knew not Nova’s smell or even what she looked like, for her sister had been parted from her so young, in such a faraway time that it seemed almost a dream that she even had a sister, a family before this. Even Dyre’s image was fading from memory, from truth… his kind face. Her heart twisted into painful breathlessness as she tried to think of him, to think of him without panic. She couldn’t even bare to wonder whether he was still alive without her there to look after him, without her company. He must be so lonely, so sad without her. In as much pain as she was herself, even. Oh, how could she do this to him, how could she ever be so cruel. She should return, yes, right away. Leave this place, leave the temptation of family behind and return to her true belonging.
Her paws were rapid white fire against the green grasses, her tongue spilling a pink flash of color against her monochrome coat. Ariadne held an expression of the utmost grief, as if her heart was physically broken there inside her chest, blood seeping figuratively out of her feathery skin. But of course, there was no such thing. It was all simply dramatics, but it felt so real, so complete to her. And she knew not what to do. To stay, or to leave. Both would result in disappointment, both would give her no answers. Both were unappeasable, for her. A breath of rattled fear shook through her panting mouth, as she ran and ran, closing her brilliant eyes for a moment of time, nothing but the wind caressing her dainty ears, closing off the world and leaving her swimming through time.
She wanted to cry but her tears were all used up. Pain threatened to seal up her throat, but she kept running and running, trying to breath, gasping for air. In her gasping the scent of something alive, something strange, blew over her face, causing aquamarine eyes to flutter open in confusion, their gaze muddled, unused to the air. Her paws fumbled to an awkward stop and she stared straight ahead with sudden clarity, at the very close face of another wolf, one darker than her, with eyes the color of the sea. She hadn’t even realized she was running straight for him, without any notion. A blink, or two. A small mouth, a puff of air from rounded lips: "Oh." And then nothing, just a stare.

Each step he took in this new land felt more powerful than the next. Dark paws became steeped in squishy land, and the moisture and the muck might have deterred other wolves, but this fellow only became more and more intrigued by this foreign world. Many questions lingered in his mind about this place, the most important being what kind of aliens called this place home. Would they be ferocious and crude, or welcoming and civilized? Neptune hummed lowly in thought while he idly tossed these thoughts around, continuing his trek forward. Until he found them, he would walk with a diligent patience, enjoying nature's embrace.
And oh, what the fates had in store for him. Instead of having to seek out company, company would come to him. Dash to him, more like it. A white blur on the horizon, running and parting the grass as if it were the red sea. Neptune padded forwards still, causing the gap between them to readily decrease. Oceanic eyes remained firmly set upon the running alabaster form, never straying away. The wolf in question seemed to be in such a hurry, and he could only guess what was chasing her, or what she was running from. Perhaps this land was not as lovely as he originally thought?
The distance between the two dramatically lowered, and for a moment, he wondered if they would experience a head-on collision. But ah, the wolf stopped, just in the nick of time. Pausing himself, he was face-to-face with a pair of lovely green eyes, the color of the grass they walked upon. The woman did not offer an explanation, only a soft word. Slight amusement touched his eyes as he echoed her, "Oh." Dark tail swayed behind him, gaze never relenting. "Is this land so dreadful that you flee from it?" If there was something horrible about this land that he should be aware of, then it was best to learn of it now before he became too comfortable.
"Neptune speaks."

ariadne aralashie kringle Shouldering the same fate, we search for the reasons
Embarrassment leaked through the teal view of her eyes, coloring the monotone features of her white face with the curves and twitches of nervousness. The shock of seeing a wolf right before her eyes slowly ebbed away, only to be replaced with equally trying emotions, as her shyness locked down Ariadne’s brain. He was so painfully close, and yet, he did not turn or run away. He stared at her with equal intensity, though of a different kind, his eyes a beautiful swirl of ocean. She blinked at him, momentarily startled and singularly mesmerized by his face, and it’s dark colors… in all honesty, if she wanted to make the comparison, he kind of looked like Dyre. But no, she couldn’t do that now, for her heart would break and the tears would spill like raindrops. Choking back some weird sound, Ariadne took a few miniscule steps backwards, reinstating a proper distance between the two. Why did he say nothing? Why did he not up and walk away from her, disgusted by this naïve and strange creature that was Ariadne? She didn't know… and she didn’t know if she appreciated his sticking around or not.
He stared and stared, just as she returned the favor, though a bit obliviously. Her mouth opened to make some response but nothing came out except a pitiful little gasp, and her heart twisted and turned with inner turmoil: why was she always making things like these even more difficult than they had to be? His blue eyes seemed to twinkle with amusement, though it wasn’t necessarily making fun of her. Ariadne didn’t understand, and confusion laced in and mixed with her various other emotions of the day. Who knew she would ever be so emotionally volatile. He mimicked her soft gasp of an ‘oh’, though she couldn’t quite tell whether or not it was mockingly. Then he asked a question that made her eyes swell into wideness, followed by an instinctive shake of her pearled head.
"O-oh, no, it’s n-not like that at all!" she exclaimed in a tight and breathy voice, unsure of how to form her lips. Should she be smiling? Trying to smile? Ariadne didn’t know which was the right course of action here. Her head twisted around to look behind her, anything to get a break from those penetrating blue eyes… they looked like they wanted to swallow her whole. Coughing slightly to clear her throat, her white tail swished through the air behind her, an anxious, nervous twitch. "I… I, um, was just running because… well, just because, she whispered pathetically, returning her gaze to the male’s face for only a moment before she stared at his shoulder instead, her ears faltering and falling against her skull. "I was upset… b-but it’s pretty nice, here… there are some nice wolves, around… she said, her voice faltering and her mind at a complete loss.

Truly, Neptune was beginning to think twice about exploring this land and considering calling it his new home. The wet terrain intrigued him to no end, but if all of the wolves here were trying to run away from this place, then perhaps this land was not as wonderful as he once thought. Even now as the woman took a few steps backwards in order to give them both some breathing room, anxiety fluttered upon her face still. What kind of evil lurked here that could bother a pretty woman so? Something wicked this way comes.
And yet, she protested the notion of wickedness. Gaze intensely lingered on her face, oceanic eyes searching for an answer to this sudden change of mind. She claimed to be running just because, but he could not imagine that to be so. And ah, she even admitted to being upset! At last, his eyes tore away from her, only to gaze past her, looking for any kind of foe that might send her fleeing. FInding nothing, eyes of a storm returned to her pallid facade. "The river never tires of running, but does a wolf?" No other explanation was given to the low, dark off-hand comment as his two-toned tail swayed with a pensive ease. Although he did not want to bother her, he had to take advantage of the moment. She was the first wolf he encountered, and he hoped that she would be able to provide him with some information. "What do you know of these lands?"
"Neptune speaks."

sorry it's so late dovvie! =[ let's wrap this one up and maybe have a new thread! especially after all that drama in arachea!!! ;P
ariadne aralashie kringle Shouldering the same fate, we search for the reasons
While her worries had initially rested on herself; “oh dear, how could she have just run into him like that, how could she have not seen him?!”, Ariadne was now beginning to realize that her wild and erratic behavior was having a potentially negative effect on the stranger before her. Giving him the wrong impression, which was just as bad as the real impression taken badly. Oh, how her heart fluttered with more frets than even before. Even as the space between them widened, she felt like he was hovering right over her, waiting and judging her every move, and her every word… when in reality he was doing everything but, a serene creature stepped away from her, merely curious, wondering… and of course it would be like Ariadne to overreact quite spontaneously… she was always doing such things. After her little outburst of protestation, the lick of a nervous giggle left her salmon tongue as she blinked and stared at his sea-eyes for a moment, which were looking at her just as closely, and maybe even too closely…
Her sea-green eyes turned away from his expression, Ariadne’s shyness getting the better even of her curiosity and worry over the beast before her. Rather than reacting in the way that Ariadne had expected, he made some offhand comment, poetic and abstract in structure, like some colloquial, cliché saying. Ariadne’s eyes and mind became distracted by those words, her eyes finding his once more with the slightest of concentrated frowns, "I-I, uhm, would think so… I mean, I get tired, sometimes…" she stuttered, confused, taking his statement literally though she knew he probably meant things in a more metaphorical sense. Another spout of nervous laughter as she skirted from his gaze once more. But his pose was continually relaxed, and his tail swaying in a gentle manner. He asked her a more straightforward question, and Ariande tried not to jump and tumble over her own thoughts just to get some words out of her mouth. "I, uhm, haven’t been here l-long, myself. I know there are a couple packs, b-but I don’t know much about them…" she replied quiet, her voice getting quieter as she continued on, disliking how she could barely help him. And again, eyes back on her toes, teeth chewing on her lip as she waited to hear what he might say.
