Year SixSeason: Winter Month: December Breeding / Birthing: Year Round There is no end to how cold it is getting, and there is only more winter to come! With the cold season comes extremes of ice and snow that can be painfully sharp on the paws in the north, even for the thickest pelts. Snow has been spotted in even the southern region's woodland cliffs and marshes.

ooc:This is basically open after Heike's first reply.
Coming into this area was always strange, as the trees began to tilt to the side and the ground began to grow harder as it shifted from dirt to rock and the two wolves continued their journey to the whispering Vargo, where Dimitri's pack held reign. It had crossed Dimitri's mind far too much, what if her alpha did not like the idea of her bring a new male into the pack. Yes, their were males in Nix'rio, but would it be bad for her to accompany a loner to the edge of their territory, and ask if he can join? A loner she had taken a liking to, well, if she told Azren that he might just bite her ear off.
The little cream she-wolf stopped suddenly, as she had not been paying attention, and found herself about to step off the edge of a cliff. She took a quick breath and stepped back as if she had only been observing the land. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid! She sat and looked to the white wolf. “Well, we've reached the southern regions.” She stated. “There is some prey around here that we could catch, we need some prey in our bellies sooner or later, and it would be best to eat before we reach the Vargo.” She told Heike, whom she was traveling with. The snow that was on the ground was scarce, but still existent enough that the green-eyed girl knew would help him hunt.
She could smell some larger prey, but not distinct and too near. She hasn't caught the scent of small prey for a while, it being winter and all. They might have to go for a young deer, unless they were lucky enough for a hare to pass by. It would be quite a waste for only two wolves to eat a deer and leave it, there would be quite a bit left over. It would be too bad to leave so much left over meat, but it would be good for the vultures and bugs, and even the scavenging wolves who were beginning to starve as winter progressed. Dimitri was lucky to have a pack in such a season, to be able to go back to whenever she wishes and be kept warm and fed by the pack if she grew weak.

Heike huffed as he saw the creme girl almost walk of the edge. He felt his heart calm down as she stopped. Young girl for sure. He tought and changed his face from a shocked look, to a slight grin. He had grown used to walking with a sly grin on his face, as he found Dimitri very pleasant to wander the land with. However it had been some time since they had eaten, if it were just him, he had hunted allready by now.
“Well, we've reached the southern regions.” she said as she looked over at him. “There is some prey around here that we could catch, we need some prey in our bellies sooner or later, and it would be best to eat before we reach the Vargo.” she said. Heike huffed. "Are you worried what your pack will say when you bring a male like myself into their home?" He asked her.
Heike looked around. The little snow that had fell so far was enough for him to blend in. But the creme girl would light up like a bon fire. But he didn't feel like he could catch a good enough meal for the two of them on his own. "Sadly there is no rivver, I know you like salmon." He said in his silly voice as he stood up to walk of the path they had followed, surely some pray allready knew were they was and kept their distance to the path. Besides he worried about Dimitri and the edge and it not seeming to be a good combination.
"Come on dear, let's get something to eat, since I have to look like a stuffed pig when I meet your pack." he said, hoping she took the joke. He wondered if there was boars around here. He had not seen any boars in Torva though.

“Are you worried what your pack will say when you bring a male like myself into their home?” Her white companion asked. Was she showing it? Maybe almost stepping off a cliff made it obvious. She thought about her answer carefully as he looked around at the snow powdered land around them. She wouldn't stick out too badly if she stayed by the dark bushes. “Sadly there is no river, I know you like salmon.” Dimitri smiled at his silly, playful tone. She did like salmon, more so now than she used to.
“I am not worried, I am quite confident that if you wanted to join then you would be welcome.” As for me? It didn't matter, she was traveling with Heike, and her white companion was quite amusing. It probably would not be that big of a problem for her to bring Heike to her pack, but it would bring up many rumors, she was sure. Rumors didn't matter though, and so neither of them would be harmed. With this in mind, the cream girl felt a bit more relaxed.
“Come on dear, let's get something to eat, since I have to look like a stuffed pig when I meet your pack.” Heike joked. The green-eyed girl chuckled a bit and swung her tail in contentment. Yes, stuffed like a pig. She shook her head, amused.
“Not like a pig, per se, but I was just thinking we did not appear as if we were just coming back for the food.” She grinned. Then she wondered if there was pig around. Even small boar was filling, and they didn't hibernate. Yet, they were dangerous to go after, able to wound easily. Little devils. “Hmm, it's been a while since I've eaten boar.” She mumbled, half to herself. “Come to think, I don't think I've seen any since I've come to Torva.” She stated in wonder. It would be quite strange if these lands were devoid of boar. That would be something.

The air seemed to be filled with Heike's irritation as he ranted about noisy wolves. She had been rather silent, it was something she could do with ease, but it crossed her mind that this wolf who left the great, big marks in the snow might have been wounded. They probably didn't even make that much noise as they passed. If they were wounded, they may not survive the winter unless they had a pack. Just because their trail was large, does not mean they made a lot of noise. It usually means that one isn't strong enough to lift their paws up over the snow completely, and with how thin this snow was, that would mean someone was probably starving. The winter was a cold time, not meant for the weak, and as these thoughts went through the girl's head, she felt a touch of sadness. It was just too bad that the land could not flourish year round.
As heike's rant ended, Dimitri looked over at him calmly. “I believe that whoever left these tracks was starving to death, so they couldn't help whatever noise they made, Heike.” The green-eyed girl said darkly, but stood again and moved on, making sure her paw steps were quieter than usual. He was steaming almost hot enough to melt the snow, and unfortunately, his yelling had probably made enough noise to scare the hibernating squirrels away. “We should move on, there won't be much prey around.” She told him quietly, keeping her thoughts a secret. Maybe they could find a rabbit or something, probably nothing big unless it was too big.

Heike looked at the creme youth as she was walking. He then got what he had just done. His ears went flat down, and he jumped after Dimitri. Burried his snout in her lower back. She did smell nice.
"Sorry, girl." He whispered, loud enough for her to hear him. He then noticed something. A tiny movement and he forze. "Ssh!" He said low, before she could answer him. He headed for the spot behind a snowy rock. His body low, quiet, slow.
When he could barely see what was behind the rock, he was pleased to see two fat grooses. Not the biggest prey, but it was something. He stood silent, if they looked up, they wouldn't see him. If Heike were very quick he could land ontop of them and get them both. But he had to do it perfectly. He slowly set his feet in the right posission for maximum grip and power.
Air and time stood still for the moment before he took the leap over the rock, he saw them screech in horror and began to escape as he were mid air. With a huff he landed ontop of them and lied down to immobilize them, a wing stuck out between his front legs, waving franticly, and he felt another brush against his left side. "Keeping everybody warm are your jobs." He huffed into the wing between his legs.
"Dimitriii! Come here!" He then shouted. "I will rise up when you got thet wing at my side in your mouth." He said and looked at the wing flapping behind his elbow. "It will flapp alot, so pin it down and kill it quick." He then instructed, not sure if this one hunted flying birds alot, like he did. "This is my favourite food." He then said, pleased, there he layed with two birds beneath him.

Heike nuzzled the green-eyed girl's lower back for a moment and she looked back at him as he spoke. “Sorry, girl.” He mumbled quietly, barely loud enough for Dimitri to hear. She opened her mouth to say it was okay when he looked up and the scent of bird caught in the girl's nose. She was already lowering herself to the ground when her white companion shushed her. The air became tense with the opportunity of the hunt, and Dimitri stayed low, still and silent as she watched Heike stalk towards the birds that were only a few feet away from them. The cream youth was surprised that they hadn't noticed the birds sooner. It wasn't very often that she hunted birds, in fact, she was never really good at it.
“Dimitri! Come here!” The moment Heike's voice sounded, the girl dashed over the rock that he had disappeared behind. His instructions were quick and only spoken once, but the green-eyed girl understood him. She nodded quickly, moving swiftly to where he lay upon the two birds. She quickly bit into a wing even before Heike rose from where he lay.
Watch the beak. She told herself as the bird was released from Heike's weight. Watch the beak! Yet as the bird flapped it's wings, it turned on her and pecked her nose, sharply cutting into the soft flesh. She pulled back and the bird was dangling from her jaws again. With her paws, she pinned it to the ground as quickly as she could, and with her teeth, she killed it with a swift bite to the neck. “Thank you, for your body will sustain mine. May your spirit pass on peacefully.” Her mother's prayer, she was taught it so many seasons ago, yet she still spoke it, as a tradition that she would never forget, and would pass on for as many generations as she could.
Dimitri sat up and licked her blood that dripped from her nose to lips. It stung and she sneezed. What happened to 'watch the beak'? She wondered silently. “Ah, I hate hunting birds, but I must admit,” She said with a smile. “They have a fine flavor.” She licked her nose again impulsively and shook her head to shake off the scarlet droplets. She sneezed again.

Heike killed of his groose quickly and turned to look at Dimitri taking care of hers. She got pecked on her nose before she got it pinned down and killed it. “Thank you, for your body will sustain mine. May your spirit pass on peacefully.” she told it when it was dead. Heike looked at her as she looked up and licked her bloody nose.
He got up and looked at the bleeding hole. He stood for a second, thinking. "Aww, it got you, even though you got it more." He knew those pecks hurt alittle before they closed up. He wanted to lick the blood of for her, it was annoying her. But he was unsure she would let him. He got a brilliant idea.
"Hey! Oh my! What's that over there!?" Heike said shocked and looked even more so. It worked, she looked at once in the direction he had looked at. He smirked, pinning Dimitri down at once. "Don't squirm, dear." He huffed at her, making sure she couldn't do a thing to him now. Heike reached out to her nose to lick the blood off it. It stopped bleeding pretty quickly, and he then got alittle unsure. Now, how would he get out of this situation with his life intact?
He decided to just leap up and get him self out of range. "I'm soooory!" He howled, still not feeling sorry for what he did. "It was for your own good, dear. Don't hate mee." He continiued.

“Aww, it got you, even though you got it more.” Heike said. Dimitri grinned as she sneezed again. He was looking at her rather oddly now, though, and she looked at him curiously. “Hey! Oh my! What's that over there!?” He must not have been looking at her, but passed her. She quickly looked in the direction he indicated and her ears shot up to listen for anything. She didn't see anything, though, and turned back to him.
“I don't see–ahhhh!” She yelped as the white wolf bowled her over and pinned her down. She growled and tried to pry herself free of his powerful hold. But, of course, he held her down easily. What was this? Had he tricked her? Why would he trick her!?
“Don't squirm, dear.” He said quickly and she growled. He quickly cleaned the peck mark on the cream youth's nose, stopping the bleeding quickly. He seemed to hesitate for a moment as her nose was clean and clear of any blood. He seemed unsure of something. Then, he quickly hopped up off of her and leaped away, out of range. “I'm soooory!” He howled as Dimitri stood with her head low and her green eyes glaring narrowly. “It was for your own good, dear. Don't hate me. ” He cried as he stayed out of her range. Of course, he had no clue how far she could jump.
She crouched down and looked up at him. “That's why you pinned me down? Just to clean my nose?” She asked, somewhat unsure whether she should be angry or amused. She growled and flattened her ears as she stalked up to him. “Don't pin me down like that again!” She snapped, then stood straighter and sat down. She looked away casually. “And you didn't even need to go to such lengths, you could have just asked.” The cream girl told him as she stood. “Now, let's eat.” She grinned as she looked over at the birds they had caught.

Heike kept himself low, submissive at her, not so big anger. He then snaked around her and stood as close he could.
"Aww, I'll try to remember that," he told her, but it was fun to trick her. "Now, let's eat." she told him and headed for the grooses. Heike stood still to watch the creme girl for a moment. Then he walked up to his groose. Dead it was, the warmth from it's body were slowly going cold. Skillfully he plucked off all the feathers, they were sticking to his cheeks and legs, he tried to blow them out of his mouth, but gave up and took a bite of his groose.
"Aaah! Groose is just so delicious!" He sighted, tail wagging pleased, making a little blizzard behind him. Heike ate everything exept the beak, claws, stomach and intestine. Much becaushe Dimitri were there as well, but also the nice taste, he let go a happy howl, rising up and stepping around him self like a idiot. "Man I feel like a idiot. But I never knew what true happines was before now." He said, emberassed. "I can't freaking help it." He howled, trying to calm down.

Feathers. The biggest reason why this cream she-wolf did not eat bird as often as she could. She was certainly no expert at plucking feathers, and she generally hated how they stuck to almost anything they touched, but the meat was flavorful. The body was still warm when Dimitri got passed the feathers, even though the youth was sure that she had swallowed several feathers. They'd be sticking to her for days, it seemed. But the meat was worth it, the flavor was better than the green-eyed girl had remembered. What a fine mixture if taste and smell.
“Aaah! Groose is just so delicious!” The girl's white companion sighed, happily wagging his tail, creating a mini blizzard behind him. She couldn't help but to wag her own tail in his excitement, as he howled with happiness. “Man I feel like a idiot. But I never knew what true happiness was before now.” Dimitri smiled. “I can't freaking help it!” He howled to the lands. He seemed to try to calm himself, but it didn't look like it was working out for him to the green-eyed girl.
Dimitri laughed and hopped up, feathers trailing her every move as she trotted over to her white friend. She licked his cheek. “Don't feel like an idiot, you're not.” She told him with a soft smile. “You're just excitable.” She grinned, loving how happy he was. And he thought that she would ever tell him to go. Never would she tell him to go, his company was like... She couldn't find a word for it, but she was sure it was out there. The greatest feeling, whatever the word was for that, that was the right one.

Something calmed Heike down and he sat. They sat in a content silence for a few moments, simply looking into each other's green eyes. He smiled and asked about the food. Dimitri simply laughed and nodded. “Always, it is winter, I am happy to have food in my belly.” She told him with a warm smile, his white fur, she was sure, was plenty warmer than the snow it mimicked. She wondered briefly how nice it would be to simply snuggle up next to him and forget the rest of the world.
He moved closer and started plucking the feathers that stuck onto Dimitri. “You look good with feathers.” He teased. He then scraped the feathers out of his mouth with his paws. “It is better to have feathers on your foot then your mouth.” He told her, and she spat out the last feather that remained in her mouth. It gently floated to the frozen ground. The cold air didn't bother the cream youth. It felt warm and as cozy as a home, even though they sat in the middle of a barren clearing, surrounded by feathers.
“This is nice.” Her white companion said contently. The cream girl agreed silently as she looked around at the tilting trees and the rocks protruding from the ground as if the dirt had been blown away. This place, though not beautiful to the eyes, felt amazing now, even though if Dimitri had come here alone she would have probably disliked it, with it's odd trees and sudden cliffs. But it was nice with Heike here next to her, and the snow at her paws was not cold anymore, and the air would not nip at her skin if night fell right here and now. Heike became nervous and unsure again, and Dimitri could hear it in his voice as he spoke again. “Does your Alpha have a mate?” He asked the green-eyed girl.
She looked at him calmly, and a smile touched her lips. “Yes, her name is Nahrus.” She told him. “Why, you interested?” She grinned, but nuzzled his shoulder to show it as a complete joke. You never knew with males, they can take things the completely wrong way. She sighed contently as his warm scent touched her nose. “He's not my type, don't worry.” She said in an attempt at comfort, though she wondered if that would settle his nerves or just make him unsure. You are. She wanted to say, but felt, as odd as it seemed to her, too shy. How this beautiful white wolf made her feel so different, like she was a strange person, yet it didn't feel bad. She felt good around him. She felt happy around him.

Heike relaxed, his ears, head and shoulders sank down alittle. “He's not my type, don't worry.” she told him reasuring. Fine, then there were just the other males, Heike thought, his eyes narrowed. Surely, he then thouht. Surely the creme youth would have had a male from her pack in mind by now. He looked at Dimitri. She looked like she wanted to say something. Either she were too shy, or she did not want to tell him what ever thing it was.
"Well that's good." He said then. Trying to not make it obvious he liked that alot. "What is your aims for pack life, Dimitri? You gonna stribe to be a higher rank, or you gonna roll around in the lower ranks?" Heike asked, just to make conversasion. He thought if there were to much silence he would burst into singing and dancing again.
Heike stretched and yawned loudly. "I'm kind of tired. I would like to be rested before I enter the Vargo." He said and went for the rock the grooses had used to hide from them. Some trees were standing nicely to conseal them from other wolves passing by. He settled in, between the rock and the trees. The wind would not bother him there either. "Hey you! Get your ass over here!" He said with a huff, making sure Dimitri would have to go over him to pick the little spot between him and the treelog. He smiled with the thought of that.

Dimitri pretended not to notice it as Heike relaxed drastically. Her lips curved in just the slightest of smiles, but it still showed how comfortable she was around him, and how glad she was to see him happy, as she could still tell he was holding it in. “Well, that's good.” The relief wasn't as obvious as it could be, and a lot of others would probably not have noticed it, but Dimitri heard it in his voice. After a pause, her white companion spoke again. “What is your aims for pack life, Dimitri? You gonna strive to be a higher rank, or you gonna roll around in the lower ranks?” In her travels with Heike, the cream youth had almost forgotten her slight ambition. She may not be the most ambitious wolf around, and she was loyal to any leader, but if she saw a reason she would be the one to call a challenge for Alpha, if only she were old enough that others would follow her.
“I'm kind of tired. I would like to be rested before I enter the Vargo.” Heike said before the green-eyed girl could think her answer through. She watched him make shelter of the rock he had caught the birds beneath and took up most of the space with his big self. She smiled. “Hey you! Get your ass over here!” He called to her with a familiar huff. She snorted and acted as if she were not amused.
“Fine, but stop with these demanding tones!” She joked in a silly, fake tone. She smiled and trotted over, stepping lightly over his snowy form, then pretended to fall over. She lay next to him closely, enjoying his warmth as she yawned and rubbed her forehead against his shoulder. “I'm not sure what my plans are for pack life, I will be loyal to a good leader, but I will challenge a bad one if I need to.” She said as she rolled onto her back and looked into his light green eyes. They were such a unique color. She stretched her paws up as if trying to reach for the sky, then rolled onto her side slightly to bury her face in his warm side.
