Year SixSeason: Winter Month: December Breeding / Birthing: Year Round There is no end to how cold it is getting, and there is only more winter to come! With the cold season comes extremes of ice and snow that can be painfully sharp on the paws in the north, even for the thickest pelts. Snow has been spotted in even the southern region's woodland cliffs and marshes.

We're going to assume this was before Aurora showed up, 'kay? ^_^
A Wolf Only Has As Much Honor As He Has Comrades.
If there was anything he could have been nervous about, it should have been obtaining followers at all. Instead, he was somewhat nervous about introducing them to the packland.
The home for the Order of Ciro was not a mountain, nor a forest, nor a plain plentiful with food. They had to travel through the desert to get here, and he had introduced them to various things along the way. The Crimson Caves, which were sometimes a plentiful water source. The Marshland, which they skirted around for a more favorable route. After his initial idea, Abbas had spent a couple of months in the southern regions, learning the land and battling with death. Eventually, he had grown to live in the heat with ease. This was something he knew he would have to do in order to pass it on to those who would also choose to call this place home.
The main pathway snaked in the center of the Plateau, the sun allowing the shadows to glance off to the side and shade their path. Taller and taller the Plateau seemed to rise, until it cut off at the top like a mountain that was defective. But it wasn't that which he was going to introduce them to first.
The leader turned to view his other followers. They were all somewhere behind him, with various responses to the land. He examined them to see how well each one was taking it. The next place they went to would help cool them down.
"First impressions?" he called over his shoulder.

Skyral followed Abbas , her new pack leader, as he wound his way around the magnificent structures, columns and creations of nature and the sandy wind that ruled the desert. Abbas had shown them the crimson caves and had told them it was a plentiful water supply ,occasionally of course, you could almost never trust a desert. They made things change dramatically! You could have a stream full of water one moment then three minutes later you watch the last drop evaporate in the destructive heat. They had then skirted the Marshland ,thankfully, but the mud had cooled down her paws a little bit ,however, when it dried she cracked it off to make sure she didn't roast her paws.
Then came the plateau. Skyral was aw struck by the sheer size of it! The walls reached up ,seeminly neverending, to the top ,a flat piece of land. Skyral thought it reminded her of a decapitated mountain. "That is our new home?," she cried incredously ,when Abbas asked for first impressions ",but how will injured wolves reach the top ,or at least a Ciro wolf?"
" I will admit we will defintely have a great view of Torva from up there and the desert will make sure to create us into the Elite of the Elite becuase ,here, everyday life will be a struggle for food, water and shade!"

She followed Abbas, her leader through the winding terrain. She had listen to him when he explained about the crimson caves, in which they can be a source of water sometimes. They skirted around the marshlands, in which she knew help dangers within in which a wolf can sink into the ground to their death. She appreciated that they skirted around this, but she didn't come out clean her paws were covered in mud. She knew that the mud would fall off eventually so she left it alone.
When she believd they were reaching there destination, she had several thoughts going through her mind, one was which she was happy that she won't be alone and that she found a pack. Another thought was judging the land finding its weakness and strengths. She could tell that any wolf living here would have to be strong and this land would make them stronger but she knew that it could also have its disadvantages, every place has those she did not worry. She looked around at the plateau, she looked up how it rose before them then abrudtly cut it self off, it was like half a mountain before her.
When Abbas asked for first impressions she listened to Skyral speak first. Once she had finished talking she aggreed with what Skyral said. She had one more look over at the place "I agree with Skyral, this would make us strong just to live here, I can many advantages to this land and also disadvantages but that always comes, you cannot have only one you must have both" She contemplated about what next to say "I have no disapprovels of this place, I can see much potential in it but like Skyral said how would a wolf reach the top even an injured one, what about them where would they stay if they cannot reach the top"

(Has anyone seen Fireheart about lately? Has she been really busy, because I haven't seen her posting on band subjects... Oh, and search 'red cave' on google images or something if you want to know what all the fuss at the end is about. ;) ))
A Wolf Only Has As Much Honor As He Has Comrades.
Skyral reminded him of a fact that made Abbas a tad bit nervous. Life here would be an every day struggle. He hoped against hope that he wasn't asking too much from those who were joining him in this endeavor.
Still the response he got back was favorable, and he was glad that both Raven and Skyral were, so far, feeling at least somewhat optimistic about this place. Abbas had chosen it for its potential, although he knew the food drawback would become a problem. The Plateau, with both its high vantage point up top and canyon path below, was a veritable fortress. They could hold their own here. It seemed, as Abbas thought about it, that he held the belief that one must be able to take care of themself before they can care for others.
"Well, the top of the Plateau was, believe it or not, the first thing I ran found. However, after the idea for this pack, I quickly realized it would be too difficult for us all to live at the apex. Therefore, I've decided that the pack will instead utilize both this canyon and the top of the Plateau."
He paused here, recognizing a colder, damper scent. Old instincts made him want to hurry toward the water, which they hadn't had enough of, but he forced his pace to stay measured. They would get there very soon. He could already see the dark mouth of the cave.
"So, upon further inspection, I found something else that would prove a useful spot to stay in the height of heat during midday. Not only that, but nature has graced us with water, even in this dry region."
He paused at the mouth of the cave. Then, glancing back, made a motion with his head, telling them to feel free to follow. The mouth of the cave wasn't very large, but Abbas only had to crouch a little in order to make it inside. Once he was inside, he saw what the others would likely find as mind-boggling as he did. The cave was not a simple dome or hallway, but a strange catacomb of twisting rock, curved in impossible ways to make amazing pathways. Wherever stalactites were hanging, water dripped from them in little pools that made constant, echoing noises.

Fire got in trouble for being on to long so she got banned but she will be on soon!
Skyral nodded with agreement as her question was answered. It would be good to not always live at the top of the plateau and have their dens around the base or in one of the deserts hidden caves. The plateau would be a large ,formidable ,well defended tower or base and haven for Ciro wolves.
" The desert will help test new Ciro entrants to see if they can stand the heat!" Skyral exclaimed.
Abbas lead them to a large ,gaping ,black, mouth of a cave. Abbas entered first ,swiftly followed by Skyral. Skyral had to dip her head entering the cave but the sight inside stole her breath away. The cave was full of twisting ,winding and turning tunnels which looked like it had been eaten away by a giant worm or dug out by ancient wolves of the past.
" This place is great!" Skyral shouted. Her voice echoed off the caves walls until it was like a thousand Skyrals were talking at once.
"Whoops" She giggled and the extact same that happened again.
Water dripped from the stalictites which were impersonating fangs ,canines and any other type of sharp tooth she could think of.
A drop of water plopped down on Skyrals nose just as she had an idea.
"Heyyyy...........", She began ,"I know a great way of getting rid of trators that dishonour the Ciro pack! Wanna hear?"
Without waiting for an answer Skyral began
" Once I lived in a wolf pack while I was travelling the world and this wolf pack told me that each wolf choose a rock ,bone or stone that suited their personality and marked it someway. Some wrapped leaves around theirs ,others scratched or gnawed markings on them. The pack shaman or mage then purified them and their rocks to give them a fresh start in the pack and leave their past behind. The mage would then take the rocks to a secret cave which only she would know about and hide them there. If a wolf betrayed the pack his or her rock would be taken out of the cave and brought down to the pack were each wolf would have their turn to dishonour the rock and the wolf. Then the rock would be destroyed ,smashed ,thrown away or burnt and the wolf would be exiled for ever."
Skyral took a sip from a pool collecting on the cave floor.
"But if thats too hard we can just put pawprints on the cave wall and we can put a scratch through it if the wolf has betrayed or dishonoured us?"
She settled down and waited for a response.

Raven listened to Abbas response, which put some of her worry away. If they constantly lived on the top there worst thing they would have to worry about is the heat of the sun but down below it would be easier to find cover and caves to live in. She could tell that this place will test every wolf who lives here and will make wolves stronger.
She followed Abbas, on the way to their next destination she picked up the scent of moisture. She thought to herself were probably going to a place with water.
She had to lower herself a bit to enter the cave but what greeted her on the other side made her gasp. The place was huge, stalacttites were attached to the ceilling with water dripping down them onto the floor which formed pools on the ground. Suddenlly it filled with the voice of thousands of Skyrals which made her flatten her ears a bit due to the sudden noise. She turned her gaze at Skyral, she wasn't angry at her but the sudden noise had scared her. When Skyral mentioned away to get rid of traitors, she was supprised by it. She never thought about how to deal with traitors and never which to. Before she could say anything Skyral has already begun explaining so she stod there listening, which was kind of hard as the noise kept bouncing of the walls. Once Skyral was done, Raven waited for the cnoise to die down before she spoke. "Skyral I don't know what to say to it, I'v never dealt with traitors before or ever been betrayed before" her voice bounced off the walls as well but this time she ignored it. Looking up at the stalatites "maybe a paw print on the wall would be good but how moist it is here it might disappear, maybe a place with less moisture like a cave, but I still can't get my head around it to do such a thing, maybe we should just have a trial and find out why the wolf betrayed the pack and to determine what to do with the wolf, I'm no saying your idea is bad Skyral its just there are other options we could use to deal with traitors" she lookes back at Skyral hoping she hadn't said anything wrong then turned to Abbas for his desicion on this.

A Wolf Only Has As Much Honor As He Has Comrades.
"Hm..."
Abbas considered Skyral's suggestions. The idea of traitors hadn't crossed his mind before, so he was partially glad someone had brought up a new idea. However, truth be told, he wasn't all that worried about it at the moment. The rocks idea seemed a bit... over-the-top. Focusing all a pack's rage and anger towards another pack member, though former, seemed a rather dark way to take care of a problem.
It wasn't until Raven turned towards him, however, that Abbas was reminded that he should have an outward opinion on the matter. He looked back at her, and then glanced at Skyral. A small sigh came from him, but it didn't seem as if he was troubled.
"I think we'll cross that bridge when we come to it." He said finally. "Ciro is not big enough for anyone to care to destroy it yet. We are not strong enough to be a threat. Still, in time."
He rose from his sitting place and began walking further into the caves. Glancing behind him, a childish glint could be seen in his eyes.
"Come. It gets bigger."
Gets bigger? How could this cave possibly get bigger? After Abbas had explored the outermost regions of this strange series of caves, he had delved deeper. Slowly, the rock began to lose its bright red hue. Now and again, small gems grew out from the walls. Just as things seemed to be getting too dark to see, it became light fast. Then the cramped path Abbas had taken them on opened up suddenly, and they entered a large cave that may as well have been an atrium.
The red caves had a problem with echoing because of the shapes of the tunnels. Here, it was the sheer size of the place that allowed the echo, but its shape allowed the echo to be... less annoying. Abbas proceeded forward along a pathway, talking to his pack mates.
"I figure we'll have pack meetings here." He said.
There was plenty of space for the pack to relax at, with little tiny pools of water here and there, the water having had to run through the top of the plateau for months before dripping down here, drop by drop. The breeze was light, but almost constant, and the source of light was high up where the wall was too thin and had broken. There was one part in the cave that was raised, where Abbas figured the speaker at the meeting would stand. It was at that spot he stopped and turned to his pack mates again, in case they had anything else to say. He wondered if they realized they had just walked from one side to the other of a Plateau.

you told me yes, You held me high, And I believed,When you told that lie. I played solider, You played king, Struck me down, When I kissed that ring. You lost that right, To hold that crown, I built you up, But you let me down. So when you fall, I'll take my turn, And fan the flames, As your blazes burn>
WAIT FOR ME GAWD DAMNIT!!' D8
She remained at the side of the group, her pelt brushing against the wall. Her tail swished impatiantly as her powerful legs brought her to a halt. She lifted her nose nd scented the air, it smelt moist. Osiris gazed around, her gaze scorching the walls. Her eyes reflected the red hues, making thn burn like the flames they were. She had been ignoring everyone, quietly keeping to herself, until Skyrals yammering finally broke through the walls in Osiris's mind. Gaaah! Won't you quit it already? I'm wary enough as it is! A growl nearly rose in her throat but she suppressed it, her eyes squinting maliciously. Her muscles rippled beneath her pelt as she began walking again, she couldn't see what the fuss was about; it was just a cave wasnt it? Her interest was caught by a gap in the twisted rock. The sun was shining outside, Osiris's eyes shone with knowing when she realised that the light was casting a four o'clock shadow. She turned away from the twisted rock pillar with the light shining through and plodded towards Abbas. Her heavy paws sunks into the moist floor, leaving long gash marks created my her cougar teeth claws. Her gait seemed depressed, her head hung low and her legs barely lifting from the ground. She padded over to Abbas's shoulder, as she was larger, she needn't lower her neck. Her voice was almost a cats hiss when she spoke. "Abbas, we be loosin' daylight, I suggest that we rest 'ere tonigh' an' ye choose two of us ter mark the boarders? Aye? What do ye say?" When she finished her speech she backed off to a respective distance, her keen eyes intent of his reply. Another idea flashed to her mind, but she grabbed hold and did not say it aloud. After shoving her idea away, a question arose. What will we hunt? Wild goats? Eagle hatchlings? Rodents? The occasional Gazelle which lives in plateaus? Blue sheep? Her mind bubbled with thoughts, each one springing about. Her tail lashed impatiently, she wasn't one for mucking about.
"ROAR!!!"

Ebele was having a nice nap. Was. Not long after she had drifted off into half sleep did she hear noise. Immediately, her ears perked and her amber eyes opened, seeming darker in the cave, faced away from the light. The young feline raised her head to stare and listen.
The caves had company. She heard three... no, four. Wolves, by the scent that was brought by the current of wind. Quietly, she rose from her platform and proceeded into the darker areas of the cave, careful not to wander into the light, where her markings would glow and alert the strangers to her presence. She wasn't certain who they were for the moment, and if they were strangers to Abbas, she didn't want to know.
The first to come in sight was Abbas, and her shoulders loosened quickly. Behind him were three others, two black and another, more interestingly colored wolf. The largest of them was the only one who didn't fit in color-wise, but even then they were barely bigger than Abbas.
Ebele quickly made her way to higher ground, so that she could look over them instead of up at them. It wasn't necessarily the quietest going on, but her entrance was stealthy enough in a giant auditorium of a cave.
"You brought along a rather noisy group." Ebele sighed, as if her opinion weighed in on Abbas'. Sadly, it didn't. He was too thick-headed to listen to her on most occasions. "Still, it's a better catch than I predicted. I thought you'd just get one scrawny wolf, fooled by your self-confidence."
She eyed them all from a safe distance, not trusting any of them. Still, if Abbas approved, she would have to deal with it. She wouldn't miss this little rising of a band of warrior wolves for anything. Bravery and righteousness weren't exactly things she was raised on, so it would be amusing to watch and see whether this band rose or fell.

Skyral was hurt by Osiris reaction. Why was Osiris always picking on her? It was really starting to annoy the heck out of her. She also had hoped that the others wolves would at least brighten her feelings. Unfortunatley the both declined but it was the way they did it that made her feel better. Abbas had said that they would deal with tratiors when they came and Raven had not even thought about. Skyral pivoited on her paw heel and walked away into ther darker recesses of the caves twisting laybrinth. She sniffed the air and explored cavern after cavern. She found remains of wolves ,cats ,gazelles ,lizards and a unidentifieable skeleton in a circle of light.
It had to long legs ,leg BONES, a flat and spherical skull and to long front arms that were shorter than its hind legs. Skyral sighed and lay down and picked up a bone in her mouth.
She moved over to a cave corner and chewed slowly on the bone ,thinking thoughts to herself in her head.
Some fourlegged critter scuttled over head of her ,knocking down the top half of a skull. It landed in front of Skyral ,knocking the bone away she was chewing on. Skyral slowly studied the skull ,careful not to touch it.
It was wolf ,definitely wolf, but on half was chewed away by something that was much bigger and more dangerous.
What if it was still alive? The thing that had killed this wolf ,or atleast bitten of half its skull.
Somewhere above her a stone rattled and fell down , its sound echoing in the cave.
Skyral slowly looked upwards trying to see the cause.

She listened to the wolves around her keeping her mouth shut she had nothing to say. She followed the others, looking around trying to to get a feel for the place. She saw movement in the corner of her eye turning her head in that direction she watches Skyral walking away. She did not call out to her, she understood if she wanted to be alone but she felt that living here might be hard if they don't stick together. She followed Abbas into a large cavern like area, looking up and around at ths place, she began moving through examining every spot every crevice. She thought about Abbas suggestion until her thoughts were wrenched away by a sudden noise. Looking around she spotted a cat, she had met that cat before but she did not say anything. Deciding to let the others deal with the cat she continued to explore the place. She felt slightly tired like Osiris said it's getting late she thought to herself. She searched for a place for the pack to rest for the night and maybe a place for her to think but she made sure she didn't stray to far not knowing these caves. She finally came apun a small cave big enough for a wolf maybe two, lying down in the center of it of the small cave, she looked around. There wasn't anything very interesting about this place but she somehow liked it. She put her head down on her paws, and breathed in the air, she did not know but she liked this little cave. She hoped Abbas won't be angry that she had strayed away but just in case she remained in this little cave a while longer sorting out her thoughts.

We'll do this round, and then exit. :) Unless you're too bored, in which case feel free to just leave.
A Wolf Only Has As Much Honor As He Has Comrades.
If Abbas was honest with himself, he wanted nothing more than to continue the tour. He didn't think the time was that bad, but as he looked about, he saw that the desert had worn out his pack mates. So, it was with slight disappointment that Abbas decided that the tour should stop here for today.
"I suppose we should rest tonight." He said in reply to Fireheart. "Tomorrow, I'll have to show whoever's interested in scouting the top of the Plateau, as well as anyone else who's interested. As for marking the borders... Perhaps just one to come along."
Marking borders. That was something he hadn't thought of before. At least, not as often as he would have to now. Even as a youth, his family never had a set territory. They wandered, and so there was no need to mark borders. Still, he had learned about it. He had to, in order to know where he could and could not go. It was also partially instinctual, a memory imprinted in his DNA.
He was unsurprised to see Ebele trying to enter the scene nonchalantly. He had heard her, of course. It was hard not to notice claw scraping on stone when every noise echoed. Still, he decided to give her his attention and deal with her usual negative, demeaning comments. His features became somewhat stoic and serious- or, more so than usual.
"Nice to see you as well, Ebele." He turned to the other wolves, or those that were paying attention. "Everyone, this is Ebele. She's a Golden Cat who won't leave me alone, so we're fairly stuck with her."
If she got angry about how he didn't compliment her in any way, he would deal with it. The most she ever graced him with was acknowledgement that he was a good bodyguard. This statement turned out to be overrated, as he hadn't often needed to defend the young cat. It was surprising, considering how much of a bother she could be.
Abbas looked about again. It seemed Skyral was preoccupied with bones, possibly moody because of Osiris' harsh words. Raven had found a cave of her own. Abbas had hoped that they would slowly find their own places in the caves. As it was, Abbas had no such place yet, so he lay down where he was, overlooking the rest of the cave.
